Polar Exposures is working with Quark Expeditions to deliver two photo expeditions in 2018 to a small group of participants eager to learn more about photography and experience some remarkable northern flora and fauna. A full lecture program will be delivered to this group on board during the voyage and include workshops for camera technique and use of computer digital processing software.
Of the many Polar travel companies that offer berths to either the north or south polar regions, Quark Expeditions stands out due to their high level of professional delivery. Since 1991 they have provided the very best in polar adventure tourism using experienced crew and excellent ships built for polar exploration.
Our photography groups will be travelling on the Ocean Nova, a purpose built 78 passenger ship with ice- strengthened hull, comfortable cabins with private facilities. We have chosen this ship due to its small passenger size which translates to a more intimate and friendly atmosphere on board compared to the many much larger ships carrying 200 plus passengers. Fewer passengers means quicker zodiac launch and retrieval times which means more time on the land or ice and more time for photography. All meals are included in the price and served in a well-appointed dining room. The ship also has other facilities such as a library, observation decks, a bar (alcohol cost is not included) a gymnasium and 24 hour hot drinks available.
Our photographic workshop will commence the night before departure (June 4th trip) or on the day of departure (June 12th trip) when the group will be met by Earle and John to discuss the final trip details. You will be loaded for departure with all other Ocean Nova passengers (location and time to be announced) and once settled into your cabin will be invited to meet in one of the ships lounges for the Polar Exposures first formal lecture.
